Znojmo, Czech Republic
Laid up with a swollen left foot, aparently some minor bone crack,
perhaps in a metatarsal. (what a big word for a small bone!) Anyway, while it
slowly heals, and the swelling becomes just a hair less each day, I am
limited to a daily routine of hobbling around a rather small part of
Znojmo, between home, wi-fi cafe (where I am now treating myself to a sundae), and
dinner restaurant. Sometimes a stop at a hole-in-the-wall grocery store.
Not much to say about today's pictures. They are (hopefully) new
views of places you have already seen.
When the light is here, the town is still pretty enough, if a tad boring with
my current limited mobility. What the hey, it is a good reason to lie in bed
most of the day.
I think my wi-fi cafe here is one of that kind that plays the same music at the
same time every day. At least I have noticed the same Amy MacDonald CD every time
I have been here in the late afternoon. There's worse - also better.
My inner Harpo loves this sign.
Last light of day
The very last fingers of the setting sun touch some of the store fronts
and towers around Masaryk Square.
Back home.
My windows take a little stretching and craning to see out of, but the
vista over the Dyje River valley makes it worth it.
One window pivots open vertically. With decent weather, this is a great place to
hang laundry to dry after I have washed it in the shower with me.
Yes, those are actual satin sheets. I am pretty sure this is the first time I have
slept on those since I started wandering. I'm not holding my breath until it happens
again. Thank you Mr & Mrs Grant for a first class B&B at an affordable price.
After the pain in the rear that I went through finding lodging here,
and before that
in Kutna Hora, I am real pleased to have an actual reservation for an apartment
in Bratislava starting Tuesday. The same apartment I had there last year.
I don't know if I will have any more to post before then, so if not, see y'all next week
in Bratislava.
