Rhodes, Greece

After our rainy day, the sun has been back, though I am afraid the hot days and warm evenings are gone for good. Days have been a pleasant, mostly sunny mid-70's F. Blue Lagoon, the Pirate Bar

The bar pirates have decorated their outer wall with the life-size, plastic front ends of an elephant and a giraffe, protruding from recesses, right out in to the line of pedestrian traffic.

You are welcome to visit Rhodes for many civilizations, ancient and less so, of which the medieval Knights of St John are by far the most visible. At least in the Old City.

The prow of a Celebrity liner hides most of the Aida liner with the lipstick and sperm on its prow. They both dwarf a top-of-the-line Blue Star Ferry

Out of view, there is a similarly humongous Costa cruise liner on the other side of the pier from the Celebrity.

You'll recall that a similar Costa ship ran aground and sank a few days after leaving Rhodes last January. The BBC reported this week that the now-disgraced captain from that incident is actually going to court, suing to get his job back. Not a cause I would bet money on.

Near the local laundromat, which I patronize every week. That is the side of the local supermarket across the street.
