The Turning Point has come and gone.
Christmas has put its period on the old year.
The New Year is still a week away.
Welcome to The Days Between.
This crow in real life looked less like part of his fountain perch.
Home Sweet Kitchen
A pair of ents dancing to celebrate the Winter Solstice
at the ancient acropolis, near ...
... the Temple of Apollo, on the ridge above the town.
Subjective Reflections on a Real World.
A handful of reflections in Kolonna and Mandraki harbors, inverted
to resemble paintings of the scenes they reflect.
I started to call these "painterly photographs", but I looked up
that expression, and discovered that it refers to a class of image
rendering programs and add-ons, to make photographs look painted. None
of those here. With the right eyes, you can see such things in the
natural world, as oddly fractal as anything in the digital workshop.
(Not that the math and programming of such programs can't be fun.)
"... and the Tower trembled from its foundations to its proud and bitter crown."
Unleashing my inner Fauvist on a tour boat.
I'm still a sucker for this neo-gothic colonnade in the late afternoon light.
