Arrival in Prague! It is a boost to the spirit, even before actually
doing anything! This typical sidewalk is on the walk from the Metro to my hotel
in the leafy Vinohrady neighborhood.
(Vinohrady = "Wine Chateaux" - a historical name. There is little trace today of
the former vinyards.)
Brunch at a family-owned cafe in Vinohrady.
Another classic Prague sidewalk near Peace Square, in this great strolling city.
This cold-war shelter vent became a movie-droid in the 2000's. He had fallen into
deep decrepitude by Spring 2025. I recently saw a photo on-line in which he looks like
a movie-minion. I hope to see next year. If I do, you'll hear about it.
A happy pooch in Wenceslas Square, near the Old City.
(Yes, the King Wenceslas, of Christmas carol fame.)
Entering the Old City from Wenceslas Square.
Yrs Trly in the Illusion Art Museum, and a pretty good one at that!
Photographs emphatically permitted!
The River Vltava (German: Moldau) is a delightful peg to hang an afternoon walk on.
I usually cross by the National Theater, savoring the absurdly picturesque
views downriver...
... mosey down the west bank through the grassy park called Kampa ...
... maybe break for a snack in the busy zone around the west end of the Charles Bridge
This little area between the Charles Bridge and Malostrana Square weaves a
paradox of idyllic spots in the midst of bustling tourism.
