St Julians

Pond carp.

The (man-made!) beach at St George's Bay.

The fishing harbor.

Hm... Malta is a former British colony. They would probably spell it harbour. I confess, I didn't notice. Mea culpa.

A day hike across a ridge to the coastal attraction called St Peter's Pool.

High above St Peter's Pool, a sign promises Cold Drinks

A closed and barricaded doorway (not shown) clearly means "NOT TODAY".

This sign delivers the goods; it really does lead way down!

The water line is fifteen or twenty feet below the rocks.

People were jumping down into the sea from here, or climbing in from lower rock levels.

Looks like a hoot!

Next time I go to St Peter's Pool, I should bring a swimsuit, a towel, and some friends.

OTOH, the down side of Way Down is climbing Way Back Up.
Am I too old for this stuff?
There is one way to find out, but today is not that day.

Marsaxlokk:
A day hike to Marsaskala.

Another pretty harbor (Marsa-) town. My map app showed walking time at an hour. I actually took closer to two hours, partly because the map app steered me wrong at least once. (!) No big deal; I had the whole afternoon.

When I visited Marsaskala once from Valletta, the harbor here seemed small and low-key.

Coming from Marsaxlokk, this same harbor is big and bustling.
