Famous beaches, and no sand in sight!
To a Californian, that sounds like a riddle..

Like most of the Adriatic - indeed, the Mediterranean - Dalmatian beaches are usually made of pebbles. Europeans don't bat an eyelash. Sometimes "beaches" are just concrete slabs! As long as you can walk into the ocean, it counts as a beach. And the ocean is a delight. Enjoy it on its own terms.
