Trenčin, Slovakia
Continuing where we left,  We are in the old city of Trenčin, western Slovakia.

There is every incentive to keep looking up the hill. The castle, the parish church, the huge forest park, which I hope for a really nice day to explore.

This guy is called Vodnik - Water Man. In Latin, that is Aquarius, but I don't think this is meant to be his age.

There is a large and beautiful old synagogue, built by Trenčin's once-large Jewish community. It is preserved by the city, and occasionally open for cultural events. If you want to visit the inside, you can arrange with the city information office to open it.

Behind the Parish Church is a small stair leading to a door in a stone wall. Behind the door, invisible from below the stair, is a side entrance to the Forest Park.

I discovered it in the last setting light of the only sunny afternoon I've had so far.

As dark falls, we appreciate the view as we cross the river and head back home.

Sorry these are a bit fuzzy. It is hard to hold a tiny camera still for a 1/4 second exposure. But the scene really is lovely.

G'night for now.

Sleep loose!
