The ferry arrived here at 5:00am. I  strolled the km or so into town slowly, and watched the sunrise over the marina (i.e. yacht harbor), before I had the heart to start rousting potential landlords for accomodation.

I dunno why this cat turned to look at me just as I snapped his picture.


Had it rained earlier? All the stone benches along the waterfront had puddles of water on them. This one also had some graffiti.

Later in the day

Digs at last, on the European third floor - i.e. the American fourth. A huge bougainvilla climbs all the way up here, embracing the lower floor balconies as it goes.
My hosts / landlords are a sweet couple and their (her) mama. The wife speaks good English, hubby handles German and French, Mamacita does strictly Greek, but we have fun trying.

Beachfront cafes here must hire lots of design-school graduates.

Here are the things that two wi-fi enabled cafes make your eyes and brain cope with when all you want is to take a leak.

What the hey... the coffee is good (this is after all Greece) and the wi-fi works enough to get the job done.
