It has been a busy few weeks - all of these pictures are more than a month old!
Tonight, we get the Sevilla pictures out the door!
Around this Colorful Town
Ever been to Villach? Italy, Austria, and Slovenia - travel between any
two of them, and your train probably stops at Villach. (If Slovenia or Salzburg
is involved, you probably change trains there.)
All right, that covers the station platforms - how about the actual town of
Villach? Hm... not a clue, until now.
Y'see, the plan was to be in Lovran, Croatia this week. So I make my way
up Italy to Trieste, the jumping-off-point for that part of Croatia, and find
that all connections are (still!) suspended in the wake of Covid. The Croatians
would be glad to have me - especially the nice family who run the B&B I had
reserved. But there is no way to get there!
So... now what? I am at the end of Italy; everyplace I can get to is a long,
trip across the Alps ... through Villach.
So here I am tonight, in an Alpine town, showing you pictures of Spain.
