Sevilla, Spain
(Imagery dates: April 6-11, 2014)
Medical complications have kept me in California this Fall and Winter.
Regretfully, no Rhodes pictures until April!
I have discovered that I have a number of photos from last Summer
that never got posted, and I feel energetic enough to have a go at it.
Without further ado, one of my favorite cities in Spain... Sevilla!
A toddler delighted by a giant soap bubble.
Colorful costume accoutrements.
Other people's photos.
Goyeneta Street.
What might Goyeneta mean?
Not knowing any better, I like
to imagine it as "equal time" for the nearby Juderia Street.
A grand old rubber tree. If I were to stand on one of those spreading
roots, I could reach up and touch the burl-like formations above.
The Guadalquivir river has abundant agriculture along it, and
major cities (Cordoba, Sevilla). Still, people float on it, boat on it.
If pollution is an issue, it is not obvious.
Plaza de la EncarnacionA former car park, now transformed
into a new plaza, featuring the
Metropol Parasol
. Wikipedia says that the structure is popularly known as "The Encarnacion
Mushrooms".
Sopa de Ganso
The Spanish name of the Marx Brothers movie "Duck Soup".
I only figured that out as I was preparing this page o` pix. I did
check it out before posting it.
