A boat named Daphne
Signs
This sign remains, but the leather shop it belongs to is closed up, its wares
in the care of another shop down the street.
The craftsman / owner is
a nice guy whom I used to exchange greetings with during the season, when his shop was
open. This season he is driving a cab, because needs the money. Sigh.
A passing family takes time to smell the flowers, or at least pet the cats, at
the San Francisco Gate.
Nobody, as far as I know, has suggested painting the
S.F. Gate golden for all the California turistas.
If the idea should occur to you, for goodness sake keep it to yourself!
We have had only one rainy day so far since I arrived. It left behind this
puddle in the medieval moat.
The moat around the D'Amboise Gate, below the Grandmasters Palace, the
highest point in the old city.
