Rhodes, Greece

Nearing the end of another winter season in Rhodes.
France and Germany are freezing their nalgas off in the 10's of °F or worse.
Parts of mainland Greece are mighty cold too, but here in the Aegean disaster is mostly economic.

Not that there isn't still beauty around...

A brief golden glow at the very end of a dim drizzly day.

Mama Nature making it all up to us.

A couple of clear cold brilliant days.
A little R & R from a dingy Winter.

Across the moat toward the city wall.

A closed-off section of rampart, half-way up the city wall above the moat.

Recep Pasha's crumbling mosque. Home Sweet Pub is behind that biggus ficus on the left.

Ruins of the basilica of St. Michael, built for the Greeks, slaves, and commoners to use after the Knights evicted them from the upper part of the city.

And so, as Greece sinks slowly into the red,
it seems unreal that I'll be leaving Rhodes a week from Tuesday.
Sure hope the deep cold spell in Paris has ended by then.
