Rhodes GR
It is April, and off we go on another round of these wanderings, but first, a final picture
from February in Australia. Looks a bit like Rhodes, but it shows Summer, which Goodle Rodos
has definitely not been having these couple of weeks!
You could almost mistake this Rhodes picture for Spring, but locals tell me it was a
fluke. My first week here was overcast and wet. Then a few days with bright sun but a steady
stiff cold wind. Tonight we are back to rain.
We think of April as Spring, but European rhythms are a bit different; even in the
Mediterranean the odds aren't good.
On an intermittently rainy day, I stumbled across the Rhodes Marathon.
Many of them looked a bit wet.
Not that a bit of rain prevents nature from giving us a good show!
Sunday night! Warm people and Greek music take the sting out of minor weather gripes.
In the medieval moat. A cold stiff wind, but bright sun!
This little cutie rested on the back of my thumb for a few minutes, then moved over to
my water bottle. The picture doesn't do the li'l guy justice. I enjoyed his (her?)
company!
A pharmacy window on a cold night. Somebody was keeping warm as best (s)he could.
Some of the local bin cats in a small square near Home Sweet Pub.
Dusk at Sokratous Street, one of the main "Shakedown Street"s of the Old City.
Tonight's page finishes at Mandraki Harbor. The ancient harbor of Rhodes is today
devoted mainly to yachts for tourist excursions.
It is still a mother lode of
fun wiggle water pictures!
