Brisbane Australia
Nadi Fiji
The downside of travel to Australia is the ungodly long flight to get there.
I used my abundant frequent flyer miles to get a premium economy seat.
This meant a five-hour connection at LAX - still worth it.
Want some discount chemistry?
You can do it in Brisbane.
From a hotel room in South Brisbane: The Moon over Central...
... and the hall outside the door.
What to do about the ungodly long flight home from Australia?
Easy: break that long ride wth a stopover in Fiji!
I used the same familly-run B & B that I had enjoyed once before.
Entry to Fiji is unusual!
Two guys with guitars sing relaxed songs in Fijian(?) - a happy start to an annoyingly-long
wait in the passport control line.
After passport control, Fijian customs actually scans your bags, like on boarding!
Signs warn you about fruits, foods, and anything that might have pests or diseases.
Biohazards appear be on their minds.
You cannot walk on any street for more than a minute or so,without a taxi stopping
to ask if you want a ride. Easiest place to get a taxi I've ever been.
One place I never saw a taxi was this "Taxi Rank". Go figure!
Mexican cuisine, made by ethnic Koreans in Fiji. A purist might turn up his nose, but a
traveler has to love it. The best bang for the food buck in my neighborhood.
Evening on my last day.
