Rhodes, Greece
Indian Summer in Rhodes. T-shirt days, cool nights, the occasional quickie
thunderstorm.
A colorful stack of pictures tonight, so here we go!
A corner of the main square in the medieval Old City.
The stairs are a popular sitting spot.
Do I need to identify our old friend,
the tower at St Paul's Gate,
reflected
in the harbor?
Going in at the Red Gate.
Going out at the San Francisco Gate.
The sound system here at Home Sweet Pub is configured just a bit oddly, with one
of the stereo speakers in the courtyard, the other indoors in the main room.
this means you get a new take on familiar music because you can usually hear
only one channel from wherever you are.
Case in point: I just heard Dave Brubeck's Take Five, minus the
signature piano leitmotif - I heard only the saxophone lead, with a
bit of the drums during the famous drum solo.
To saxophonist Paul Desmond's credit, it was quite coherent that way!
Looking out the D'Amboise Gate,
beneath the Grandmaster's Palace.
A rain puddle with a bit of a Byzantine church.
Masts in Mandraki Harbor, with evening alpenglow on the clouds.
These clouds, actually.
Early evening on the main tourist street. Savor it while it lasts. By the end
of the month, this spot won't have enough lights on to take a photo!
