Rhodes, Greece
The Days Between
With Christmas past (so to speak), this year is effectively over and done, and
next year has not yet arrived.
A liminal season if ever there were one!
I have a short set of pictures tonight, so I have included alternate takes
of some shots.
Checking the numbers, I see that this my one-hundred-fiftieth (!) post from Rhodes!
If some of the scenes are starting to look familiar, well... they are familiar
to me too.
Ever been peered at by a Turkish lamp? This one is in my friend Philipe's French
cafe, which way outclasses the surrounding bar district.
Two of the staff here at Home Sweet Pub, celebrating the final hours,
maybe minutes, of Christmas Day. I brightened up the dim pub light in
a rare bit of post-processing.
Nobody has ever seen the inside of a brick. When you break open a brick,
you see the outside of the pieces. The inside of a brick is a theory that we
accept because it explains what we observe.

A contrast-enhanced image of a windy afternoon at the ferry harbor.
Notice the whitecaps, to say nothing
of the surf breaking over the breakwater out of the frame.
That is it for 2013.
Everybody have a happy new year, and a safe transition
getting to it!
