Kutna Hora, Bohemia, Czech Republic
Burning the post-midnight oil to get this out and still pack to leave
tomorrow morning.
This bucolic creekside area sits right below some very flashy set pieces
on the bluff above.
Beam me up, Mr Scott.
This guy stands outside Saint Barb's Cathedral,
behind the Jesuit College.
Inside Saint Barb's at last. Paid 60 Czech crowns (about 2.40 Euro), and
here we jolly well are.
That ornamental tower sits atop the Jesuit College
next door.
Each gothic stained-glass window has a differenly shaped framing for the
part inside the pointed arch.
It is a shame that they settle for recorded organ music (at the volume of
shopping music). That pipe organ up there could make the earth move in here.
Fantasy of Toccata & Fugue in D Minor
The cathedral has an outdoor terrace with some lovely vistas of valley and town.
A hair-raising itinerary tomorrow: four connections, the longest being 7 minutes.
That sort of thing used to work on German trains in the 1960's, but it is
messing with Mrs. Murphy now, pretty near anywhere. See you all when the dust settles.
