Hamburg, Germany
I learned the German word for tugboat: so help me, they are
called Schlepper.
Some re-bar near the beach had rusted a lovely shade of orange in the sun.
Locks in the harbor! Unlike most locks, the boat is not raised or lowered
in passing. The locks control the flow of water, and especially silt, from the river
through the harbor.
Back in the base neighborhood of Altona (ahl-toe-NAH).
If you know your ship anatomy, you may know what this part is. I never thought to
read the sign, so I haven't a clue. It is big, though.
Folding somethings - tables? chairs? - at a harborside cafe.
Back to those refreshing little parks that are scattered all over town.
A final look at my little loft, before I hit the rails at the crack of dawn
tomorrow.
That is it for now from Germany's great port city. See you all soon in Česká republika
