City of London
City of London is the slightly confusing name of London's financial district.

Nestled among the City's hypermodern skyscrapers...
St Andrew Undershaft Church
15th-century church that survived 1666's Fire of London and the Blitz.

"Undershaft"?

North London Train Stations

St Pancras Station,
for the Eurostar trains to Paris and Brussels.

Across the street, Kings Cross Station cashes in on its mention in the Harry Potter Books. Express trains from Scotland and northeast England arrive here.

My train from York arrived here at Kings Cross, my first sight of London since 1965!

The underside of a highway overpass (Holborn Viaduct) - none too shabby!

From the east end of Westminster Bridge.

Crossing London Bridge to the district called Southwark. The river bank there offers much to entertain an explorer on foot.

Not Southwark yet, but Fleet Street, north of the river.

Now we are in Southwark, in the maze of pedestrian lanes under London Bridge and by the foot of The Shard.

The Golden Hind
Francis Drake's actual ship is long lost, and presumed decayed beyond recognition. No records exist of its actual apperance. This reconstruction based on conjecture invites you to suspend your disbelief, and disgorge some cash.

A nice little park behind the Tate Modern museum.

From there, it is a short stroll across Blackfriars Bridge to St Pauls Cathedral.
