The Lay of the Town

The town in question is Parikia, the capital of Paros island. A classic Cycladic looking place.

The Cyclades also include Mykonos and Santorini, as you can guess from the related style of architecture, decoration, and layout.

Samos, is not in the group. It has its own traditions and style.

That stone tower is a corner of the old Frankish fort.

What were Franks doing in these parts? Crusading.

I dunno what   the round stones in  the tower were for, but they are in many parts at various distances from the ground.
