A shopping tunnel with a black reflective ceiling.
This is as good a place as any to mention that Copenhagen is an
expensive city. Lodging, food, bus tickets, you name
it.
The expense is disguised by having their own money. 5.29 Danish Kroner =
1 US$ at today's rate; 7.45 DKR = 1 EUR.
So you see a huge price for something, and your first reaction is
"Well, that is Kroner - of course it looks high." Then you do some
quick 'n dirty mental arithmetic, and say "Wait a minute! That really
is expensive."
I'm not moaning seriously though. I already decided I can splurge for
five nights here, and so far I am enjoying it, albeit bemusedly.
Part of me still finds it incredible that I am actually in
Copen Freekin' Hagen!
I knew I'd be going to Istanbul - it never occurred to me I'd be coming
here.
A Short Rest
Time to go back to one of those terrace in the garden/lake area, and
nurse a cappucino while I rest my feet, read my magazine, and watch the
light become more golden on my surroundings and my fellow Tivolers.
And of course take more pictures. I'm on a roll, (if not of film) and
there is no stopping.
Sunnuvagun! This particular cafe terrace has (yet another) view of the
City Hall.
As I left, a sunken bar was already nearly dark inside. Through one
window, I saw the last of the sun coming in through another
window.
