Further south, the Adriatic coast becomes quite dry. Up here though, it is lushly grown with an eclectic mix of northern and sub-tropical flora. Pampas grass, palms, chestnut, some kind of oak, some deciduous trees I don't know the names of, but they grow in Germany and not Calif. And of course bamboo.  And those big-leaved plants that look like banana trees but aren't,   A delightfully liminal climate. backlit bush by stone steps

Can anybody identify these birds?
